A U.S. premiere of a
one-man show fresh from its rave reviews on the London Stage. A tale of a man
whose lover is sent to fight in the Iraq war, and the emotional trauma and
anger toward our government that ensues. Presented by the award winning
Starving Artists Theatre Company
Part romance, part
stand-up, part wry reflection on America today...
Zach prowls the heat-struck
shores of Lake Michigan, nursing a secret longing...
Meanwhile Jackson sits in
Hollywood pounding out furious emails to the President of the United States...
As thunderclouds gather
over Los Angeles , across the country in Michigan the heat is becoming intense,
driving the beach community of Union Pier indoors, seeking relief in air
conditioning and cool sheets...
Jackson's anger snaps like
the lightning over the Tinseltown neon skyline - fury at the war, fury at the
fate his friends have suffered in a drowning New Orleans, most of all rage at
the agony suffered by one particular soldier fighting in Iraq for a cause he
cannot understand... a soldier named Zach. Why won't the White House listen?
And in a heat-crazed
lakeside town Zach tries trawls his memories in a desperate attempt to
reconnect with a man who changed his life forever with one act of love...
Against a backdrop of rage
and passion A DANGEROUS AGE tells an utterly contemporary love story - a story proving
there is no such thing as a "one night stand".
